The Data Protection Act 1998 is “an Act to make provision for the regulation of the processing of information relating to individuals including the obtaining, holding, use or disclosure of such information.  It places obligations on those who record and use personal data”.

 

CompCare Consultancy will endeavour to apply the spirit of the Act to ALL data operations.

 

The act contains 8 principles which provide guidance relating to how organisations deal with information. These are that information is:

  •   Personal data shall be processed fairly and lawfully and, in particular, shall not be processed unless specific conditions are met;

  • Personal data shall be obtained only for one or more specified and lawful purposes, and shall not be further processed in any manner incompatible with that purpose or those purposes

  • Personal data shall be adequate, relevant and not excessive in relation to the purpose or purposes for which they are processed.

  • Personal data shall be accurate and, where necessary, kept up to date;

  • Personal data processed for any purpose or purposes shall not be kept for longer than is necessary for that purpose or those purposes.

  • Personal data shall be processed in accordance with the rights of data subjects under the Act;

  • Appropriate technical and organisational measures shall be taken against unauthorised or unlawful processing of personal data and against accidental loss or destruction of, or damage to, personal data;

  • Personal data shall not be transferred to a country or territory outside the European Economic Area unless that country or territory ensures an adequate level of protection for the rights and freedoms of data subjects in relation to the processing of personal data.

We process personal data relating to our customers or are otherwise engaged to work as, part of our Health and Social Care compliance service.  We do this is for invoice purposes, to assist in the running of the organisation and/or to enable communications during consultancy.

The personal data includes identifiers such as Name, Address, telephone contact and email address

We will hold this information in the form of:

·         Consultancy Agreement/Contract

·         Enquiry form

This list is not exhaustive and may change to meet the needs of the organisation.

 

We will not share information about you with third parties without your consent unless the law    allows or requires us to. We are required to share some of your personal data with:

·         HMRC
